Habit Reversal

Guided Meditation
Having tried many forms of guided meditation I knew that I could produce at least a temporary removal of most of the temptations that drive and maintain habits. This could be achieved with a single experience of the meditation.
There were several problems though:
Bullet
The effectiveness lasts from a few weeks to a few months and then reduces over time.
Bullet
Repeating the same meditation offers only a reduced effect.
Bullet
This approach by itself works for completely stopping the habit and not for on-going management of the behaviour.
Combined Approach
Combining what I had learnt about a one-off guided meditation with an improved and simple ability to communicate with the Automatic Mind provided a simple, versatile, repeatable, and robust approach to changing a difficult habit.
This combined approach offered a four-step method that could allow people to then change their own habit in whatever way they might want. To stop for good, to stop for a given time, or to manage their habit in various ways.
Of course, there will be challenges and ongoing learning about how to support the long-term change of habit but much of this is already available in the public domain.
